Contract Dispute - Municipal Utility. Large Southern California City sold a power plant to a corporation whose primary business was the generation of electrical power. The purchasing corporation did not make certain payments under the purchase agreement. The City sued for payment. The case was complicated by the sale of the utility by the original purchaser to another corporation who was purchased by yet another corporation. Researched and found the parent company for counsel representing the City and presented key financial statements and SEC filings for the case. Prepared schedules of amounts due under the contract which resulted in the City collecting over $8 million in amounts due.

Lost Profits/Discrimination Case - Federal Court. Plaintiff sued Southern California City for lost profits and damages for refusing to give her a license to open Alzheimer's care facilities in residential areas. Prepared schedules and analyses as to the true economic impact of the City's actions on the plaintiff. My business partner testified several times in deposition and once in Federal Court on this matter.

Government Contract Procurement Violations. For defense subcontractor anticipating U.S. government investigation, reviewed employees' expense records for a period of years for possible violations of defense contractor regulations, particularly purchasing fraud.
